Leyton Orient produced a strong performance against MK Dons but were unable to make the most of their dominance as they drew 0-0.

Despite the positive showing Orient remain the only side in League One to have not won at home this season.

With Jobi McAnuff suspended, Shaun Batt and Jay SImpson played on either side of Darius Henderson in an attacking 4-3-3 formation which saw Romain Vincelot play an advanced role in midfield.

Having had a bright start to the game Orient nearly fell behind on the 21st minute when Gary Woods pulled off a stunning double save to first parry away Mark Randall's shot from distance before touching Benik Afobe's follow up onto the bar with his foot.

Ten minutes later Shane Lowry nearly scored what would have surely been the O's goal of the season with a 40-yard volley which had MK Dons 'keeper David Martin at full stretch to push the ball round the post.

Shaun Batt then had a wonderful chance to open the scoring when he raced onto Jack Price's precise through ball but could only fire straight at Martin.

With the scores level at the break Orient started the second half brightly but chances became few and far between as the half went on with Simpson coming the closest for the hosts with eight minutes remaining from a free-kick.

The O's day was then soured when Nathan Clarke first picked up his fifth booking of the season which rules him out of Tuesday's trip to Doncaster before Mathieu Baudry was shown two bookings in quick succession to also rule him out of the upcoming match.
