Chelmsford City 0 - Leyton Orient 7

Melbourne Stadium

8th July 2013

Attendance: 752

O Club 7 In Chelsmford

Leyton Orient produce a classy second half display as they fired seven second half goals past Chelmsford City to win their opening pre-season match.

The O's started the game with two trialists, midfielder Benoit and striker Betrand alongside nine of the current Orient squad.

In a typical pre-season first half the match was sluggish with neither side looking dominant.

The O's did conjure up some chances with David Mooney going close on two occasions, and trilaist Benoit forcing a decent save out of the home goalkeeper.

At the other end Jamie Jones did well to deny the Clarets the lead just before the half time whistle.

The second half saw a completely different Orient team turn out with another trialist Yohann Lasimant entering the match.

The O's looked far more of a threat in the second and went close through Kevin Lisbie and Romain Vincelot.

They eventually took the lead through Shaun Batt's controlled finish after good work from De'Reece Vanderhyde.

Batt quickly added a second after neat interplay between Lisbie and Dean Cox. Lisbie then added the third after collecting the rebounded effort of Lasimant.

Cox then scored to take the tally to four; which was then further added to by Lasimant who drove the ball into the top right hand corner.

Lisbie and then Lasimant scored again to complete their braces and finish a satisfactory night for Orient.

Orient 1st Half: Jones; Sawyer, Clarke, Sherratt, Omozusi, Benoit, Georgiou, Griffith, Odubajo; Mooney, Bertrand

Orient 2nd Half: Larkins; Lee, Cuthbert, Baudry, Vanderhyde; Cox, James, Vincelot, Lasitman; Lisbie, Batt
