Could Blades Turn Attention To Slade

Could Blades Turn Attention To Slade

Sheffield United could move their manager search down south after being rejected by one of the top managers in Scotland.

Stuart McCall has reportedly turned down the opportunity to return to Bramall Lane as the Blades search for a new manager after Danny Wilson's departure in April.

With Russell Slade one of the bookmakers favourites for the job, it is likely that the Sheffield United board could make an enquiry into the availability of the Orient boss.

After a terrific season last time out the O's will not want to lose their manager. Chairman Barry Hearn will certainly not want a repeat of the Barnsley managerial debacle in the summer of 2011.

Other favourites for the role include Gareth Southgate and current caretaker manager Chris Morgan.

VitalOrient hopes that the Blades can find a suitable choice before they come calling for Slade.
