Sawyer - We Controlled The Game

Orient`s goalscoring hero Gary Sawyer felt that his side deserved their 2-0 win over MK Dons.

The left back`s strike with nine minutes to go was the catalyst as the O`s moved to within a point of Swindon who currently occupy the last play-off spot. And speaking after the match, he felt his team were worthy winners.

"Over the course of whole game I think we controlled the game and limited their (MK`s) chances. And I thought we had a couple of more chances to maybe go a bit further ahead, so I think it was a fair result."

It was double joy for the Bideford born man as he was part of a makeshift Orient backline which kept a clean sheet along with his strike down the other end. And the 27 year-old was quick to praise the squad after an excellent performance.

"I think it just shows the strength of the players we`re bringing in and we`re changing it so much and it`s still working, so I think that`s a good sign."

Sawyer`s goal was his first since joining the club last summer, and the full back admitted that the goal came as a shock to him.

"Obviously a bit of surprise (the goal), but it`s just nice to be in the position and when it popped up I caught the ball well enough and nice to get a goal."
