Lisbie Signs Until 2014

Lisbie Signs Until 2014

Kevin Lisbie has put pen to paper on a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2014.

Earlier in the week, the striker agreed to the extension after discussions with the club, putting all worries of him leaving in the summer when his contract expired to bed.

Russell Slade told the Official Site.

'Kevin is a huge player for us and to get his commitment moving forwards is massive. He's a class act and an excellent pro who offers us valuable experience and quality both on and off the pitch. He's excellent with the younger players and they can earn a lot from him.'

Slade also revealed that there was interest in him during the January window, so even more pleasing he's pledged his immediate future to the club.

Elsewhere on the Official Site Lisbie responded to the contract signing himself

'I'm over the moon to sign it and get everything done and dusted. Especially at my age now it's always nice to get things signed. There was a bit of interest in me in the window but I wanted to stay here. The club has treated me great and so have the fans, but the manager too was a major reason."

Lisbie added that he has found it frustrating missing matches so far this season, but he's pleased to see the team doing well and he's happy with his own form and goal return so far. What he wants to see now is some consistency in results, because with that, he thinks we could have a promotion push.
