A first half goal from Lucas Akins was enough to win the game for the visitors last night as Orient sunk to defeat in a game between two shocking sides.
Akins' strike that went through the legs of Orient keeper Jamie Jones, was the only goal of the game as neither side were particularly prolific in front of goal.
Orient lined up in a bizarre looking 4-1-4-1 formation and persisted in lumping balls aimlessly into East London moonlight.
Chances were few and far between for both sides and the first real shot of the game resulted in what would turn out to be the away sides winner. After failing to clear a free-kick, the ball fell at Akins' feet who fired in a shot, amidst a smattering of Orient defenders, that left Jones on his backside, with many questioning whether the Scouser could have done more.
Despite the late arrival of Moses Odubajo from the bench, Orient couldn't really create any chances that really tested Chris Day in the Stevenage goal.
Orient; Jamie Jones; Gary Sawyer, Lloyd James, Ben Chorley, Nathan Clarke; Mathieu Baudry, Anthony Griffith, Jimmy Smith (Moses Odubajo), Dean Cox; Michael Symes, David Mooney (Affy Obafemi).
