LOFC - Porter Joins Burnley
Young winger George Porter has left Orient and decided to venture North to Burnley after rejecting a contract extension by The O's.
The twenty-year old has agreed a three-year deal with the Turf Moor club after spending two seasons at Brisbane Road.
The Sidcup born youngster was plucked from non-league obscurity in the summer of 2010 by Russell Slade from Ryman Premier club Cray Wanderers and made one appearance during the 2010/11 season, a late substitute appearance in a televised fixture against Charlton Athletic. George then spent much of the 2010/11 campaign on loan at Lewes and Hastings United.
The 2011/12 season was far better for George with him breaking into the first team and becoming a favourite amongst fans at Brisbane Road. Porter made thirty-eight appearances last season but the vast majority, twenty-six, were from the substitues bench.
Vital Orient would like to wish George the best of luck for the 2012/13 season and over the course of his three-year contract at Burnley.
