LOFC - Porter Rejects New Contract
It looks as though the future of young winger George Porter lies away from Brisbane Road, after rejecting a new contract offer.
Porter was plucked from the obscurities of non-league football two years ago by Russell Slade and now looks set to leave the club after rejecting an offer described as 'excellent' by Russell Slade.
After signing from Cray Wanderers in 2010, Porter made one appearance in the 10/11 season, a brief cameo in the televised home game with Charlton Athletic before spending time away from The O's on loan at Hastings United and Lewes.
However, 2011/12 was a successful one for the youngster as he made 38 appearances, mostly from the subs bench, scoring two goals in that time.
In January of 2012, rumours surfaced of interest from Championship clubs, specifically Millwall, the club George supports, Nottigham Forest and Ipswich Town but nothing come of the speculation at the time, however, it now looks likely that Porter will join a bigger club than Orient.
Orient will recieve a fee when Porter leaves the club due to the winger being under the age of 23.
