Extensions and departures at O's

Paul-Jose Mpoku will stay with Orient for the remainder of the season after his loan deal from Tottenham was extended.

Mpoku was due to leave the O's after the win at Norwich but he will now remain at Brisbane Road until May 31st.

This is a positive step for the O's with Mpoku making a big impact since he arrived in September. His trickery and ability to take on players has offered Slade another option on the wing, with Mpoku able to start or still make an impact coming off the bench.

Youngsters Mike Cestor, Josh Millwood and Harry Beautyman have all left the O's on loan. Cestor has joined Blue Square South side Boreham Wood whilst Millwood and Beautyman have gone to Hastings United in the Ryman League Premier Division.

The deals will hopefully let all three get valuable first team experience with none likely to figure in Slade's first team plans for the rest of this season.

Striker James Walker has also left the club after his short-term deal expired. Walker originally joined on a 3-month deal in September (which was extended by 1 month in December) but he has failed to make any impact on the O's attack.

Walker didn't start one game in the league (making 11 appearances from the bench) and failed to find the net once. After bringing in youngster Harry Kane, Slade would seem to have plenty of attacking options to choose from with Revell, McGleish, Tehoue, Kane, Patulea and Jarvis currently at the club.

What do you think about the extension of Mpoku's loan? Are you pleased that the youngsters have left to get experience? Are you sad to see Walker leave the club? Leave your thoughts below....

I think Josh Millwood and Harry Beautyman may have a future with the O's but I think Mike Cestor should have made the breakthrough by now so I could see him leaving at the end of the season.

Mike Cestor would probably be the only survivor of the three I would think. I only say this because he's seen some sort of first-team action. At this stage in their career they're usually moved on if they haven't seen time on the pitch (for the first team). They're only making up numbers on the bench at the moment, so it doesn't look great for any of them really.

I am not completely convinced about Mike Cestor. He is still young but I think he should have made more of an impression, especially when Daniels was injured at start of the season. Slade also brought in multiple left-backs to cover for Daniels instead of playing Cestor. But I think we will only know by the end of the season whether they have a future at O's under Slade....
